tile bars are the new home entertainment trend

As families begin to gather again, the desire to have an at-home entertainment space is of popular demand. The concept of a home bar first gained popularity in the 1940s, when having a social lifestyle in America became the norm. By the ?50s and ?60s, many houses in America had bars in their living rooms following the wars.

Now, over sixty years later, we?re seeing a resurgence of home bars with a tile makeover. Tile bars add a sleek element to a space, along with the promise of an easy clean up and picture-worthy backdrop. We?ve put together a few of our favorite looks to give you some inspiration.

One of our favorite aspects of this look is how the subway tile serves as the backdrop for the glass cabinets. It makes the bar look larger and really grabs the eyes. You can create a similar look using tile from the Tongue In Chic or Wanderlust collections by?AlysEdwards Tile.

Patterned tile like the one shown here is especially great to use for a patio bar to make the space stand out amidst the backyard. This specific tile is by?Walker Zanger. We love the contrast between the blue of the tile and the warmer hues of the patio floor.

Green and white is one of our favorite color combos. Oftentimes, people might think an at-home bar should have a darker color scheme, but that?s not the case! You can use any tile that would fit the space and add a unique touch, such as this design by?Sonoma Tilemakers.

Do you want to add a twist to your rustic home? Add a tile wall over the brick-like in this photo to give a more modernized look while still maintaining the authentic feel of the space. The tile used here is Satin Nickel Diamond by?Anatolia Tile.
