Summer Highlight: An Artistic Trip to New York City

As September quickly passes, we’re reflecting on a fantastic summer filled with memories made alongside our community of architects, designers, and DIY enthusiasts. One of the highlights was our unforgettable trip to New York City when we took a team of talented local designers to the flagship location of one of our valued partners, Artistic Tile. Here’s a recap of that day with our favorite moments caught on camera and our top Artistic Tile takeaways.

The Occasion

The perfect opportunity for a corporate getaway, we were honored to take this team into the heart of the city to explore together the creativity and expertise that Artistic Tile stands for. Our first stop was their flagship showroom on 21st Street. Situated in the heart of Chelsea's tile district, the showroom houses Artistic Tile's exclusive designs in expansive displays for easy and enjoyable browsing. Open workspaces help designers plan for any project, and visitors are encouraged to consult with in-store representatives about their tailored services and design insights.

Next, we headed West to Artistic Tile’s corporate headquarters, production facility, and amazing slab gallery in Secaucus, New Jersey. The inspiration hit us from the parking lot. We were looking at a 25,000-square-foot gallery full of unique stone slabs individually selected, each of them bursting with quality and color. The warehouse has a custom cutting and mosaic shop and a distribution center open for private appointments and tours. This is where designers come to pair tile and mosaic selections with natural stone slabs, sprawling samples over work tables with perfect lighting, and collaborating with Artistic Tile’s experts.

As we toured, the Artistic Tile representatives gave us the full story of who they are, how their products are made, sourced, protected, and sold, and how we can bring the same experience to the clients who shop these products in our showroom. We received a masterclass on natural stone, waterjet cutting, custom fabricating, and their Tailored To program–all of which are done on-site.

At this stage of the tour, you could feel the rush of inspiration among our team of designers. Talented collaborators return to our Rochester showroom year after year, pushing the boundaries of creativity. The ability of the Artistic Tile team to support and further that innovation through custom cuts and tailored designs allows these designers to build their own mosaic patterns, mix any material, color, and texture, and plan to use their selected tile in any shape and size.

We ended the experience with great food and great views; the magic of the trip was not lost on any of us!
