making your home the place to be: fireplace edition

As winter approaches, we?re thinking of all the ways to make homes the place ?to be.? Especially where we?re located in upstate New York, outdoor adventures can be few and far between once the snow coats the ground. It?s important to have a living space in your home that offers a relaxing and warm environment while also still being aesthetically pleasing. One of our favorite ways to spruce up your home is by having a beautiful fireplace that ties the room together. Here are some of our favorite tiled fireplaces as inspiration for the different looks that can be created.

This bright and cheery living room is showcasing?Walker Zanger?s?patterned tile. We love the decision to put this pattern around the fireplace because it complements those simple white walls by adding an aspect of visual interest to the room and drawing the eye to the fireplace and mantle.

You can replicate this stunning mosaic look by using?Florida Tile?s?Local Bistro Herringbone mosaic. The use of longer tiles and the herringbone pattern go beautifully with wider fireplaces like the one in the photo above.?

This image features one of our favorite fireplace looks we?ve seen this season! Using?Marble Systems? Avalon Collection, this look shows a stunning contrast between the warm wood tones and fireplace.?

Choosing a nice navy tile like this one from?Sonoma Tilemakers?in a fun pattern as shown above is the perfect way to add some visual interest to a room. It?s a subtle touch that can set the tone for the rest of the space.

If you opt for a more traditional look, try a fun colored tile like this emerald green look from?Pratt and Larson?s?InLine collection. You can mix and match using different geometric patterns in an array of beautiful colors. You can even vary the glaze for the ultimate customized tile experience!
